Summer Student Support Fund 2023
Deadline for continuing students: 13:00 14 July 2023
The Summer Student Support Fund is being administered by the Student Financial Support team within Student Services and is drawing on monies provided by the university and our generous alumni donors.
What is the Summer Student Support fund?
The Summer Student Support Fund has been created to assist students during the summer period who need extra financial help to meet costs that are not met from other sources of support, or students who have particular financial emergencies and as a result are at risk of leaving Higher Education. Monies for the Summer Student Support Fund have come from a range of University and Alumni Donor sources.
The Summer Student Support Fund can only be used to help with living costs and funds to an individual student are provided by the University based on an assessment of need.
Who can apply?
Any UK, EU or International undergraduate or postgraduate student currently enrolled at the University of Reading can make an application to the Student Summer Support Funds.
Please note that students must normally be enrolled for a minimum of 60 credits or 50% of a full-time course. Disabled students studying less than 50% because of their disability may apply if they study at least 25% of a full-time course. New part-time students who started their course on/after 1 September 2013 must be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits or 25% of a full-time course.

Please Note
The Summer 2023 Support Fund exists to help any eligible student in financial difficulty, however, we cannot guarantee there will be sufficient funds to meet every application we receive or all the costs a student might apply for. The Fund should not be seen as a main source of funding.
Applications with completed evidence are processed in date order and once funds are exhausted, no further awards are made.
Maximum individual award level is £1,000 for currently registered students.
